Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to quality standards. The APM assists in managing subcontractors, vendors, schedules, documentation, and communication with all project stakeholders.
In this role, you will be working with business leaders from many functions with the mission to build superior affordable properties to revitalize and strengthen communities to support the ABG mission: to build superior affordable properties that revitalize and strengthen communities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist the Project Manager in all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and budget management.
· Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and project execution.
· Represent APEX with owners, architects, consultants, government authorities, subcontractors, and vendors.
· Review and manage project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
· Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to timelines and resolve on-site issues.
· Support procurement activities and oversee material deliveries.
· Compile reports on project status for stakeholders and senior management.
· Attend project meetings and assist with reporting and documentation.
· Work with field supervisors and superintendents to ensure work is completed to specifications.
· Assist with the close-out process, including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation.
· Use project management software to track timelines, costs, and deliverables.
· Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and contract requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in construction project management or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Experience with residential projects.
Relevant Skills/Abilities:
· Experience with NYC construction codes and regulations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
· Multitasking skills to manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables effectively.
· Analytical skills to identify issues and propose solutions quickly.

Working Conditions:
In this worksite-based role, you'll work onsite at a defined location(s) around New York City.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
