The Department of Radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a radiologist to join a 24 hour emergency radiology section interpreting CT, MRI, ultrasound, and radiographic studies. Coverage will be a combination of in house and remote coverage and will alternate between day, evening and overnight shifts; one week on and two weeks off.
The UAB Department of Radiology consists of 109 faculty members, including 19 physicists and PhD researchers. The emergency radiology section has 16 faculty members, seeking to expand to 18. There are 28 diagnostic radiology residents and eight integrated interventional radiology residents.
UAB is a thriving academic medical center with busy inpatient and emergency services, state-of-the art facilities, and highly prized residency and fellowship programs. Applicants should be ABR-certified or eligible. Fellowship training in body imaging, neuroimaging, musculoskeletal imaging, and/or emergency radiology is preferred, and candidates must be qualified for medical licensure in Alabama. Candidates should have a strong affinity for teaching. An interest in research is desired, but not required.
