Position Overview
Buddha Teas is seeking a dependable, motivated, and detail-oriented Production Assistant – Packaging & Lotting to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for accurately packaging, labeling, lotting, and preparing finished tea products for distribution while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, and workplace safety.

Key ResponsibilitiesPackaging & Lotting
- Operate packaging and lotting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verify lot numbers, expiration dates, labels, and finished product accuracy.
- Assemble, seal, label, and palletize finished products.
- Monitor product quality throughout the production process.
- Perform basic equipment adjustments and notify Maintenance of equipment issues when necessary.
- Other duties as needed
Material Preparation
- Build and stage boxes and packaging materials to support production.
- Prepare workstations and supplies for upcoming production runs.
- Maintain an organized work area to promote efficiency.
Food Safety & Sanitation
- Clean bins, barrels, utensils, equipment, and work areas following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
- Follow all company food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
Documentation & Teamwork
- Complete production documentation accurately and on time.
- Label pallets and finished products for traceability.
- Promptly communicate equipment issues, material shortages, safety concerns, or quality concerns to the Lotting Lead, Production Lead, Production Supervisor, or Plant Manager.
- Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Quality, and Maintenance teams to meet daily production goals.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or food production experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude is preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent physical activity throughout the workday, including:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive bending, reaching, twisting, kneeling, and stretching.
- Repetitive use of hands and arms while packaging products and operating equipment.
- Working around moving production equipment while following all company safety procedures.
- Working in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to natural tea dust, herbs, spices, aromas, and varying temperatures.
- Following all company safety policies and using required personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.

Buddha Teas is located in Carlsbad, CA.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday
Working hours: 7 am -5:30 pm M-TH
