Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Sterilization Technician / Dental Assistant Support at the entry level to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Operate and maintain **autoclave sterilization equipment** (steam, chemical, and ultrasonic)
- Clean, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize all dental instruments per OSHA and CDC guidelines- Prepare and organize **sterile instrument trays** for each procedure type (restorative, surgical, endodontic, hygiene)- Monitor **biological indicators (spore tests)** and maintain sterilization logs- Manage **inventory of sterile supplies** — stock exam rooms, hygiene stations, and operatories- Maintain a **clean, organized sterilization center** at all times- Assist the clinical team with **room turnover** between patients- Ensure proper **disposal of biohazard waste** per regulations- Support dental assistants with **procedure setup** and basic chairside assistance as needed (training provided)- Follow all infection control protocols with precision and consistency
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for entry-level candidates.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental, Dentrix, Eaglesoft is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology, dental terminology, and coding practices related to dental care.
- Knowledge of infection prevention management practices specific to healthcare settings.
- Experience with dental sterilization procedures, instrument processing, and aseptic techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinical setting.
