Position Details
- Position: Maintenance Technician Level 1
- Pay: $29.76/hour
- Shift: 2nd Shift | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Schedule: Rotating schedule (2 on / 3 off, 2 on / 2 off, 3 on / 2 off)
- Location: Indianapolis, IN (Park 100)
What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for keeping plant systems running efficiently by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and facility systems
- Work with PLCs (Allen Bradley), frequency drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and servo motors
- Maintain and repair refrigeration (NH3), boiler, and HVAC systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Coordinate repairs with internal teams or external vendors as needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and follow safety standards
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred)
- Blueprint and schematic reading skills
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Preferred:
- 1+ years of maintenance experience
- Food manufacturing or sanitary design experience
- Knowledge of GMPs, 5S, or Six Sigma principles
- Journeyman card (or ability to progress through trade levels)
Growth & Advancement
- Opportunities to progress from Tradesman → Journeyman → Craftsman
- Advancement based on hours worked and skill development
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, and standing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
Work Environment & PPE
- Industrial bakery environment (temperature-controlled)
- Must follow GMP guidelines (no jewelry, no nail polish, proper attire)
- Required PPE: safety glasses, hard hats, safety shoes, lab coat
