Job Summary
Join our Cardiology team as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, where your expertise will directly impact patient diagnosis and treatment. In this vital role, you will operate advanced nuclear medicine equipment, GE Ventri, and ensure the highest standards of radiation safety.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately.
- Operate sophisticated medical equipment.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures with precision, ensuring optimal image quality while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Assist with IV insertions necessary for radiotracer administration, maintaining aseptic technique throughout all procedures.
- Monitor patient physiology during imaging to ensure comfort and safety, utilizing your knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Maintain detailed records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems, documenting procedures accurately and thoroughly.
- Implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure during all imaging activities.
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret images for diagnostic evaluation, ensuring clarity and accuracy in reporting findings.
- Manage medical equipment operation efficiently, performing routine quality checks and troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating nuclear medicine equipment.
- Skilled in performing advanced nuclear medicine procedures.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
- Demonstrated ability to perform IV insertions with aseptic technique while maintaining patient comfort.
- Understanding of picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) for managing medical images effectively.
- Knowledge of implementing radiation safety protocols to ensure compliance with health standards.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients and healthcare team members to facilitate smooth diagnostic processes.
