Duties
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers with manual transmission across local, regional, or long-haul routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity.
- Drive a variety of specialized trailers including refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and freight carriers.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route documentation in accordance with federal and state laws.
- Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid Class A CDL license.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks with precision and confidence.
- Familiarity with handling various trailer types including refrigerated trailers,
- Strong knowledge of freight loading/unloading procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Excellent route planning skills with a focus on efficiency and timeliness.
- Schedule
- Thursday and Wednesday off
- Friday - Tuesday Start time 5:00 AM
