Veterinary Receptionist:
Hardworking, friendly, proactive, team player wanted! A well-established and high-quality general practice is looking for an experienced front desk receptionist to join our team. We are a high quality, multi-doctor, full service hospital. Our hospital boasts an enjoyable environment with great leadership and excellent support staff. This is a part-time position, we have a flexible schedule however; rotating Saturday shifts will be required.
-Sample Core Responsibilities Include:
- Schedules and confirms patient appointments-Answers phones, directs clients appropriately and delivers messages accurately-Obtain all pertinent patient information from owners or referring physicians-Inputs patient demographics into our electronic records database and files paper records
- Process payments for services, surgeries, etc.Multi-task: Answer phones, make appointments, prepare prescriptions, process payments simultaneously.
- -Required Capabilities and Experience:
- Veterinary reception experience is highly recommended
- Manages multiple tasks at one time. Demonstrates a systematic approach in carrying out assignments. Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Translates problems into practical solutions.
- Reads, writes and speaks fluent English, using appropriate grammar, style and vocabulary. Demonstrates exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills. Consistently ensures the team provides the client with attentive, courteous and informative service. Accurately and consistently follows instructions and can provide clear directions to clients.
- Shows willingness and aptitude to take appropriate steps in finding solutions to problems; presents options and ideas to enhance current processes or procedures. Takes on additional responsibility when both big and small tasks need to be done.
- Exhibits honest, discretion, and sound judgment. Willing to work with others, collaborating and compromising where necessary; promptly share relevant information with others and is open to changing situations and opportunities. Able and willing to perform tasks and duties without supervision as appropriate.
- Maintains a positive "can do" outlook, and maintains composure and friendly demeanor while dealing with stressful situations. Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and to compute rate, ratio and percent; ability to convert units of measurement.
- Ability to be confident around pets (i.e., dogs, cats, birds)-Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x-ray) and exposure to radioactive substances.-Experience, Education, and/or Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with college course work or college degree a definite plus-Two years or more receptionist experience, those with Veterinary experience will be considered first.
- Proficient with medical records software, experience with Cornerstone a plus.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
