Job Overview
Apex Family Care is seeking compassionate and motivated Family Skill Builders to join our Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) and Intensive Family Reunification (IFR) team.
Family Skill Builders are the bridge between therapy and everyday life. Working alongside caregivers in their homes and communities, they provide hands-on coaching, modeling, and practical skill development that helps families build confidence, improve parenting, strengthen routines, and create safe, stable home environments.
Position Summary
The Family Skill Builder works collaboratively with the Clinical Therapist and Family Support Specialist to help families achieve the goals identified in their Family Success Plan.
Services are delivered in homes, schools, and community settings and focus on helping caregivers successfully implement new skills in real-life situations.
Responsibilities
· Provide intensive home-based parenting coaching.
· Model effective parenting strategies.
· Teach communication and conflict-resolution skills.
· Coach families in behavior management techniques.
· Assist with establishing healthy household routines.
· Support emotional regulation and coping skill development.
· Reinforce treatment goals developed by the Clinical Therapist.
· Observe parent-child interactions and provide immediate coaching.
· Teach budgeting, meal planning, organization, and daily living skills as appropriate.
· Collaborate with Nebraska DHHS, schools, probation, and community providers.
· Complete timely and accurate documentation.
· Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
· Support families during crisis stabilization efforts under the direction of the treatment team.

Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Human Services, Family Studies, Education, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline.
· Individuals within two semesters of completing a bachelor's degree in a qualifying field may also be considered.
· An associate degree plus at least two years of experience in human services or a related field may qualify under Nebraska DHHS contract provisions.
Pay: From $20.50 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 25.0 per week
