Job Title: CMA/RMA Nephrology

Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Information Management: Accurately obtain and record patient information in our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, including vital signs, medical history, and medications.
- Specimen Collection: Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory tests, including performing phlebotomy as required.
- In-Office Procedure Preparation: Assist in preparations for in-office procedures, such as perm catheter removal, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule patient procedures at external facilities and efficiently manage related paperwork, including obtaining prior authorizations.
- Daily Record Preparation: Gather and prepare patient records for the following day, including dialysis, hospital visits, and pre-operative information.
- Patient Interaction: Contact patients as directed by physicians to provide follow-up care or information.
- Assistance and Support: Collaborate with physicians during examinations and procedures, providing necessary assistance to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Laboratory and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain accurate lab logs, temperature records, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and lab areas. Prepare labs for after-hours pickups and manage sharps container disposal.
- Medications Administration: Administer medications (IM, SQ, ID, IV) including IV Iron, Hepatitis B injections, flu vaccines, and PPD administration under physician direction.
- Call Management: Triage incoming calls and voicemails effectively, ensuring prompt response to patient inquiries.
- Patient Records Management: Manage and maintain patient records through copying, faxing, filing, and data entry into EMR as needed, including lab results and correspondence.
- EMR Maintenance: Regularly update EMR with new referring physician information, pharmacies, patient statuses, and relevant medical codes.
- Additional Duties: Perform various administrative tasks and support the office as needed to ensure a smooth operation.
Qualifications:
- Active certification as a CMA or RMA.
- Proven experience in a medical assistant role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of EMR software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Basic understanding of lab procedures and patient care protocols.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
