Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process customer purchases, returns, and exchanges
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits to customers
- Upsell related products or accessories to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front end, including merchandising displays and stock areas
- Stock shelves and ensure products are properly labeled, faced, and available for customers
- Handle cash transactions with accuracy, including cash handling procedures and basic math calculations
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Previous supervising or leadership experience in retail or grocery store environments is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving a broader customer base
- Excellent phone etiquette for managing inquiries and providing support over the phone
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques, merchandising, stocking, and upselling strategies
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory management
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Experience in grocery store or retail environments preferred but not required
