This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate resident health information, supporting regulatory compliance, and ensuring efficient supply coordination throughout the facility. Approximately 85% of this role is dedicated to Medical Records responsibilities, with 15% supporting Central Supply operations.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional flexibility, as needed, to support facility operations on the weekends.
What You’ll Do
Medical Records & Health Information Management (85%)
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medical records in compliance with federal and state regulations, HIPAA requirements, and facility policies.
- Manage electronic health records (EHRs), complete documentation audits, and ensure records are properly organized, indexed, and maintained.
- Process authorized medical record requests while protecting resident privacy and confidentiality.
- Establish and maintain medical records for new admissions.
- Track physician certifications, recertifications, and required clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, admissions, and other departments to support quality resident care.
Central Supply (15%)
- Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing nursing and facility supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain organized supply storage areas.
- Perform inventory counts and utilize FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices.
- Support timely distribution of supplies to promote uninterrupted resident care.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and computer skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience in medical records, health information management, healthcare administration, skilled nursing, or long-term care.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and electronic health records.
- Experience with inventory management or supply coordination.
