Location: Midland, Texas Department: Land Surveying
Watson Professional Group Inc is currently looking for an employee with high integrity and an excellent attention to detail in order to fill a position as a Surveying Crew Chief. You must be familiar with all surveying techniques used for civil and pipeline surveying.
**Please note, this a full-time position within our Midland, TX team. It is not a position that will be provided per diem. Out-of-town work assignments will be paid by an expense account provided to the Crew Chief by Watson Professional Group Inc. The successful candidate will be required to report to the Midland office daily to meet with their Project Manager(s) and crews for local work and a client base around the Permian Basin, Texas & New Mexico areas, with some light day travel to neighboring areas.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Will work primarily in the field on control, topographic surveys, and pipeline surveys as Party Chief of a one, two or three-person field crew
May also perform some office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, and data checks
Will accurately run and adjust survey measuring instruments including levels, GPS equipment, and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities
- Take accurate and clear notes and performs note reduction
- Reads and understands plans and specifications
- Know basic sources of measurement errors
- Know principles of monumentation, staking and marking
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required experience:
Surveying: 2 years
Required license or certification:
Driver's License
