Direct Support Professional - PRN - Immediate positions available - Jackson, TN Area $15.68 an hour - Paid training (at minimum wage)
The primary purpose of the Direct Support Professional is to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who need support to lead a safe, self-directed life to participate fully in their communities.
To assist individuals with intellectual disabilities (mild to severe) in leading a self-directed life and contribute to the community. To aid in assisting with activities of daily living if needed, and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you, will provide support at home, work, and other community places.
Direct Support Professional Skills:
The job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a very significant one. It is important to have compassion, creativity, and integrity when supporting our individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A DSP will assist a person, with developmental disabilities, to have a meaningful, safe and self-directed life, skills are needed which include the following but are not limited to:

provide quality care of individuals in their home

ensure supports and services are person-centered

provide breakfast | lunch | dinner dietary options for individuals daily

promote physical health and emotional well-being

provide responsible and accountable financial management

maintain confidentiality
-
drive individual to doctor's appointments, school, work, and community based activities

support individual to form new relationships

maintain existing relationships

document daily reports electronically
