Job Title: RN Procedural Nurse
Position Summary:
In the surgical procedure room, provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of the physician. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office/clinic policies, procedures, and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Admitting the patient and undergoing pre-procedure assessment
- Provide sedation during the procedure
- Maintain the patient’s airway and safety during the procedure
- Post-procedure recovery
Professional Requirements:
- Ensures that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Wears appropriate clothing for job functions. Wears ID badge.
- Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, administration, and staff.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
Regulatory Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Utah RN license.
- ACLS certified
- PALS certified
- Sedation certified (provided by the department)
