Mechanical Technician
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician for a company based in Fort Worth, TX. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support advanced manufacturing operations by maintaining production equipment, improving processes, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure efficient and reliable production performance.
Pay Rate
$25.00 per hour
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Overtime and weekend hours may be required to support production demands and equipment installations.
Mechanical Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Support Final Assembly Test (FAT) and production operations through daily maintenance and equipment support activities.
- Assemble, install, maintain, and repair production fixtures, racks, carts, and manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and production equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance and service activities on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Assist mechanical engineers with fixture fabrication, prototype modifications, and production support projects.
- Support equipment installation, setup, and validation activities for manufacturing operations.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams during equipment installations and facility projects.
- Maintain organized work areas and ensure compliance with company safety standards and manufacturing procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and equipment optimization.
- Assist with production ramp-up activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Mechanical Technician Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, equipment maintenance, and manufacturing support activities.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of basic pneumatic systems and manufacturing equipment operation.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and equipment repair procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in various manufacturing environments throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with conveyor systems, workstations, and manufacturing support equipment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
- Experience supporting production ramp-ups and equipment installation projects.
- Forklift, scissor lift, or other facility equipment operation experience.
- Experience working with fabrication, machining, or prototype modification projects.
