Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), administering medications under supervision, and assisting with X-ray procedures when applicable.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately by documenting patient information, medical histories, treatment plans, and ICD coding for billing purposes.
- Support medical office operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals or follow-up visits.
- Provide patient education on medication usage, treatment procedures, or health maintenance strategies in accordance with physiology knowledge and medical terminology standards.
- Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and ensure all clinical equipment is properly sterilized and functioning correctly.
Skills
- Proven experience in medical assisting within outpatient clinics, hospital settings, or specialty areas such as dermatology or internal medicine.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support accurate documentation and effective patient communication.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management for seamless data entry and retrieval.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and basic X-ray support when trained.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and attentive care delivery.
- Familiarity with ICD coding standards for accurate diagnosis documentation and billing processes.
- Experience working in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers is a plus.
- Knowledge of hospital medicine practices including inpatient care, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Geriatrics is desirable.
