Brand Ambassador – Alcohol Demonstrations

Position Type: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Varies, but primarily Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun (3-7pm weekdays, 12-4pm weekends)
Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour (Four hours per shift)

D'Vine Taste Promotions is seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing Brand Ambassador to represent premium wine and spirits brands at retail grocery and specialty beverage store locations throughout California. In this customer-facing role, you will engage with customers to provide product education, conduct tastings, and drive sales through personalized service and product demonstrations.

What You'll Do
- Host engaging wine and spirits tastings.
- Engage with store customers to introduce and promote assigned beverage products.
- Provide product knowledge, including flavor profiles, production methods, food pairings, and pricing/promotional offers, to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
- Utilize personal selling skills and product expertise to boost in-store sales of featured brands.
- Verify customer age and identification following all applicable federal, state, and local alcohol service laws and regulations.
- Set up and maintain a clean, professional, and organized demonstration area that complies with store requirements and brand standards.
- Break down demonstration area at the conclusion of each shift, ensuring proper disposal of waste and return of unused inventory.
- Communicate with management regarding scheduling, product needs, customer feedback, and any issues arising during demonstrations.
- Submit timely reports, timesheets, and other documentation as required.
- Track and report sales results, customer feedback, and product performance as requested by management.
What we’re looking for
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age as of the date of hire.
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned store locations.
- Current Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification issued by an ABC-approved provider. We’ll reimburse you if you need to get certified!
- Previous sales or customer-facing experience in retail, hospitality, brand ambassador work, or a related field.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience conducting alcohol demonstrations or tastings in grocery store or retail environments.
- Knowledge of wine and spirits categories, production methods, and tasting techniques.
- Bilingual communication skills (Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in service areas).
Skills & Abilities:
- Outgoing, engaging, and confident interpersonal communication style with a genuine enthusiasm for connecting with people.
- Strong personal selling skills and ability to influence purchasing decisions through product education and relationship-building.
- Dependability, punctuality, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining company and brand standards.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform the following physical tasks:
- Stand and walk for extended periods on various floor surfaces including tile, concrete, and carpeted areas.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and position bottles, glassware, and demonstration supplies weighing up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull cases of wine and spirits weighing up to 57 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Open bottles, pour beverages, and handle glassware with sufficient coordination and dexterity to avoid spills and breakage on a frequent basis.
- Set up and arrange demonstration tables, signage, and product displays.
- Communicate verbally with customers and store personnel.
- Work in indoor retail environments with varying temperatures, lighting, and noise levels.
- Work in proximity to customers and staff in settings that may include crowded conditions.
