American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for an ICU position at a Level 3 Trauma, Stroke and Bariatric Center of Excellence requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and a NC or compact RN license.

40-bed ICU within a 457-bed hospital designated as a Level 3 Trauma Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center

Patient population includes ventilated patients, stroke and thrombectomy patients, opti-flow and BiPAP patients, overdose patients, CRRT, GI bleeds, and some trauma patients

Patient ratio of 1:1–3
-
12-hour day shifts (0700–1900), 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required

No on-call requirements

Floating required within Region 1 (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH — peds only); must be agreeable to floating to all facilities in the region as needed

EMR: Epic

Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, Arctic Sun, Hemosphere, Belmont rapid transfuser, and life flow

Active NC or compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Proficiency in critical care drips including insulin, vasopressors, and sedation
-
Experience managing invasive lines (arterial lines and CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, ventilator management, blood product administration, and wound care
-
A professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year is required for consideration
-
Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Department support includes CNAs, a 24/7 charge nurse, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, and intensivist 24/7; no HUC/receptionist on unit
-
RNs are responsible for phlebotomy; limited phlebotomy support is available within the hospital
-
Telemetry monitoring via hardwire monitors and travel tele boxes
-
Orientation includes facility NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation

Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
-
Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; any missed contracted hours must be made up by extending the contract

Navy scrubs required

Free designated parking available on-site

Unit is described as having a strong teamwork culture on both day and night shifts

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Former employees must have been separated from any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before being considered
