General Requirements

Position Summary
The Service Electrician is responsible for responding to and completing assigned service calls safely, efficiently, and to the customer's satisfaction. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, leadership, and the ability to work independently while representing HighPoint professionally.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Service & Customer Support
- Respond to assigned service calls in a timely manner.
- Diagnose electrical issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Communicate daily job status with the Service Manager.
- Notify supervision if a job cannot be completed as scheduled and coordinate return visits.
- Communicate professionally with customers and management regarding project status or concerns.
- Complete work orders accurately and thoroughly, including detailed material descriptions.
- Order materials, obtain purchase order information, and coordinate deliveries as needed.
- Ensure service vehicles are properly stocked and maintained.
- Coordinate with the shop manager to obtain necessary tools and equipment.
Electrical Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Install and service 120/208V and 277/480V electrical systems.
- Wire generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), transformers, emergency lighting, and backup lighting transfer controls (BLTC).
- Understand emergency power systems, UPS systems, fire pump requirements, relays, contactors, grounding, and bonding.
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and site drawings.
- Plan conduit runs while coordinating with other trades.
- Program lighting control panels and switches.
- Utilize the National Electrical Code (NEC) to resolve installation questions and ensure code compliance.
- Diagnose problems independently and implement effective solutions.
- Understand service installations and execute work with minimal supervision.

- Work collaboratively with supervisors, project managers, customers, and other trades.

This position regularly requires:

Pay: $27.00 - $40.00 per hour
