Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining centers to produce high-precision production parts, tooling, fixtures, prototypes, and die components. The ideal candidate has strong CNC programming experience, excellent blueprint reading skills, and the ability to machine complex parts while maintaining tight tolerances and exceptional quality.

Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining centers
- Develop and edit CNC programs using SURFCAM, G-Code, M-Code, and conversational programming
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, GD&T, engineering drawings, and work instructions
- Select tooling, fixtures, workholding devices, and establish machine offsets
- Perform precision machining including:
- Milling
- Drilling
- Boring
- Tapping
- Reaming
- Profiling
- Contouring
- Pocketing
- Interpolation
- Prove out new CNC programs and optimize machining processes
- Inspect first articles and finished parts using precision measuring instruments including:
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Height gauges
- Gauge pins
- Surface plates
- Troubleshoot machining issues, tooling, programs, fixtures, and machine performance
- Make program and tooling adjustments to improve efficiency and quality
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on CNC equipment
- Enter production information into the ERP system including job status, production quantities, scrap, and labor tracking
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE
- Assist with additional machining and tool room projects as needed
Qualifications
- 10+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
- Experience programming and operating 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machining centers
- Proficient with SURFCAM or similar CAM software
- Strong knowledge of G-Code, M-Code, and conversational programming
- Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T
- Experience machining precision parts to tight tolerances
- Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, machine setup, and workholding
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- ERP manufacturing software experience is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
