Pacific Health Alliance is seeking compassionate, dependable, and resilient Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join our Keiki Step Down, a licensed Child Caring Institution (CCI) serving children and adolescents with complex behavioral health needs.
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a critical role in helping children feel safe, supported, and successful each day. You'll work alongside nurses, clinicians, and residential staff to provide therapeutic support, encourage positive behaviors, and create a structured environment where every child has the opportunity to heal and thrive.

Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct supervision, behavioral support, and therapeutic care to children and adolescents in a residential setting. This position helps implement individualized behavioral support plans, promotes emotional regulation and positive coping skills, and assists in maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and adolescents.
- Provide direct supervision while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Implement individualized Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs) under the direction of the clinical team.
- Utilize trauma-informed care principles and approved de-escalation techniques during behavioral crises.
- Model and reinforce positive behaviors, communication, and coping skills.
- Support daily routines including meals, hygiene, recreation, education, and life skills development.
- Observe, document, and communicate behavioral changes, incidents, and progress.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and shift handoffs.
- Maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate, consistent care.
- Follow all Child Caring Institution regulations, safety protocols, confidentiality requirements, and agency policies.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 21 preferred (or as required by licensing regulations)
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to pass all required background clearances
- Ability to safely manage behavioral crises using approved intervention techniques
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Behavioral Health, Criminal Justice, Education, or a related field
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults
- Experience in behavioral health, mental health, residential treatment, foster care, youth services, developmental disabilities, pediatric healthcare, or special education
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and positive behavior support

Schedule
- Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available
- 8-hour shifts
- Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be available
