Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, vital signs, and basic life support procedures. Experience in geriatrics, urgent care, or working within a Level II Trauma Center is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures.
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with medical standards.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient reactions.
- Perform basic life support (BLS) as needed during emergencies.
- Assist in coding and billing processes for insurance claims.
- Support the daily operations of the clinic or healthcare facility, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Skills
- Proficient in taking and recording vital signs accurately.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to various specialties.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Experience or knowledge in geriatrics is a plus.
- Familiarity with coding practices for medical billing is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in an inpatient or urgent care environment.
- Understanding of the workflow within a Level II Trauma Center is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare staff effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
