We are seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals and schematics.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, hydraulic system servicing, brake repairs, transmission work, and tire service to prevent breakdowns.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC systems, and diesel engines with automotive diagnostics tools.
- Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs or during troubleshooting procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed and parts used; ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in assembly and disassembly of equipment components during repairs or upgrades; support preventive maintenance schedules.
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in dealership or industrial settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, farm machinery, and other heavy equipment.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, OEM manuals, and technical diagrams for accurate diagnostics.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; adept with power tools and hand tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, air brakes, transmissions, alignment procedures, suspension systems, and HVAC components.
- Ability to perform automotive repair tasks such as brake repair, tire service, electrical troubleshooting, and diesel engine repair.
- Experience with heavy lifting techniques safely handling large components; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills; capable of communicating technical issues clearly to clients or team members.
