Job Summary - Medical Devices
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer specializing in Medical Devices to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in technical documentation, with the ability to translate complex medical device information into clear, precise, and user-friendly content. This role involves creating comprehensive manuals, user guides, and regulatory documentation that meet industry standards and support product development, compliance, and user training. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, technical proficiency, and a proactive approach to research and content creation.
Duties - Medical Devices
- Develop, edit, and maintain detailed technical documentation for medical devices, including user manuals, installation guides, and service procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as R&D, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs to gather accurate technical information.
- Utilize content management systems and documentation tools to organize and update documentation efficiently.
- Create visual aids using graphic design software and Visio to enhance clarity of technical diagrams and illustrations.
- Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA regulations for medical devices.
- Conduct research to interpret complex technical data into accessible language suitable for diverse audiences.
- Proofread and review content for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Apply Agile methodologies to manage documentation projects effectively within fast-paced development cycles.
Experience - Medical Devices
- Proven experience in technical writing within the medical device.
- Hands-on experience managing and implementing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs/ECRs).
- Skilled in generating technical reports, specifications, work instructions, and design documentation.
- Experience performing Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) evaluations and driving product improvements.
- Must have OEM manufacturing experience, ideally supporting product development, sustaining engineering, or new product introduction activities.
- Electrical Component Knowledge.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) along with specialized documentation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to create content tailored for technical audiences with clarity and precision.
- Excellent communication skills in English with a keen eye for editing and proofreading to ensure error-free content.
