Job Title: Accounting Technician – Remote (Training in Windsor, CO)
MUST BE IN COLORDO AND ABLE TO TRAIN IN WINDSOR
Pay Rate: $24.50/hour
Schedule: 9 months on / 3 months off (full-time during active months)
Location: Remote (must be able to commute to Windsor, CO for training)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to support billing review for wildfire response expenses submitted by fire departments across the U.S. You will evaluate supporting documentation, ensure compliance with State guidelines, and identify which expenses are allowable for reimbursement.
This position is ideal for someone analytical who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy, and is looking for a long-term role with a predictable schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Review invoices and supporting documents submitted by fire departments.
- Apply State rules to determine allowable expenses.
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely processing.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in complex invoicing and/or accounts payable preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.
- Solid, stable work history (we value candidates seeking long-term employment).
- Ability to commute to Windsor, CO for initial training.
- Background check and drug test required.
