La Terre is a thoughtfully curated flower shop and boutique known for its exquisite flower arrangements, fine goods, and warm, personalized service. Located in the heart of Foxtown, our shop is a destination that invites customers to experience joy through seasonal flowers, tabletop treasures, and hand-selected gifts. Originally founded in 2019, La Terre continues to grow under the leadership of Sally Vander Wyst, a seasoned floral designer and founder of Milwaukee Flower Co.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Hybrid Production & Retail Sales Associate who will thrive in working a dual role within La Terre, keeping things running smoothly from the minute the flowers arrive in the shop to the moment they leave. This role will blend the behind-the-scenes production work with Front of House customer service.
You will spend part of your week supporting the Production team - receiving and processing shipments, maintaining the flower bar, and ensuring the back of house stays clean, stocked, and organized. The other part of your week will be spent creating a warm and welcoming experience for customers - helping with orders and supporting the overall flow of the shop.

WHO YOU ARE
You’re a hands-on team player. You love staying busy and keeping spaces organized and well-kept. You’re observant and detail oriented whether that’s unpacking fresh flowers, restocking shelves, or setting up an order for delivery. You are able to notice when things need attention and make it happen.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES - Production
- Receive & process flower deliveries from wholesaler
- Maintain flower bar - flowers & vessels
- Maintain and clean vessels/rentals for shop + Milwaukee Flower Company
- Rotate flowers between retail, cooler & back cooler to ensure highest quality product is readily available for customers & designers
- Make note of product quality & communicate poor quality/replacement needs with Production Manager
- Communicate flower or supplies ordering needs with Production Manager
- Cleaning + upkeep of production area
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES - Retail Sales
- Prepare the shop in the morning and maintain cleanliness throughout the day
- Maintain a welcoming and well-organized space, aligned with La Terre’s visual and service standards
- Offer warm, attentive service and help guide customers through their purchases
- Support team sales goals by staying aware throughout the day, being knowledgeable about products on the floor, and genuinely caring about customers who walk through the door
- Build relationships with regulars and maintain a customer-focused atmosphere
- Answer phones, process orders, and support online order flow to ensure designers are set up for success
- Help prepare flower orders for delivery and pickup, coordinating with the design team
- Accurately label and prepare deliveries using Zippy
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and merchandising new products
- Update inventory in Shopify and ensure stock levels are current
- Communicate regularly with the Shop Manager about what’s happening on the floor
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Graduate & (at a minimum) some college or training program
- 1-2 years of retail and/or hospitality experience preferred
- Familiar with (or quick to learn) online platforms. Currently using: Shopify, Zippy, Homebase, and Google Suite
- Ability to comfortably lift 30 lbs

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
