Job Summary
voco Moab is seeking a friendly, dependable, and hardworking Restaurant Server / Food & Beverage Attendant to join our team.
This is a multi-tasking position. The employee will take guest orders, serve food and alcoholic beverages, process payments, maintain the dining area, and assist the kitchen or other food-and-beverage operations when needed.
The ideal candidate is flexible, team-oriented, and willing to help wherever needed to provide an excellent guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Explain menu items and answer questions about food and beverages
- Take food and beverage orders accurately
- Serve food, cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages
- Verify identification before serving alcohol
- Follow all Utah alcohol-service laws and hotel policies
- Monitor guests for signs of intoxication and prevent over-service
- Enter orders and process payments accurately through the POS system
- Check on guests throughout their meals
- Handle guest concerns professionally
- Set up, clean, sanitize, and reset tables
- Restock dishes, glassware, silverware, condiments, and restaurant supplies
- Assist with restaurant opening and closing duties
- Help deliver room-service or to-go orders when required
- Assist the bartender during busy periods
- Help the kitchen with food preparation, plating, dishwashing, cleaning, or restocking when needed
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, and personal-hygiene standards
- Work cooperatively with servers, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers, front-desk employees, and management
- Perform other reasonable food-and-beverage duties based on business needs
Required Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, serving, or hospitality experience preferred
- Must be legally eligible to serve alcoholic beverages in Utah
- Must complete approved Utah alcohol-server training before serving alcohol
- Must obtain and maintain any required food-handler permit
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy periods
- Willingness to assist in the kitchen and other restaurant areas
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable handling food, alcohol, cash, and credit-card payments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to carry trays containing food and beverages
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to bend, reach, clean, and perform kitchen-support duties
