Salt & Sand Home Furnishings is looking for a friendly, motivated, and design-minded Sales & Interior Design Consultant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who loves working with people, has an eye for beautiful interiors, and is confident helping customers make purchasing decisions.
This is a sales-focused position that combines furniture and home décor sales with personalized interior design assistance.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide an exceptional in-store experience.
- Build relationships with customers and identify their furniture, décor, and design needs.
- Guide customers through furniture selections, fabrics, colors, finishes, rugs, lighting, and accessories.
- Create coordinated room designs and furniture layouts.
- Provide in-home design consultations when needed.
- Measure spaces and help customers select appropriately sized furniture.
- Develop design presentations and recommendations for customers.
- Follow up with customers, design leads, and potential sales opportunities.
- Build long-term customer relationships that generate repeat and referral business.
- Maintain knowledge of our furniture collections, vendors, pricing, promotions, and special-order options.
- Assist with merchandising and maintaining beautiful showroom displays.
- Work toward individual and store sales goals.
- Coordinate with the Salt & Sand team to ensure customers receive excellent service from selection through delivery.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong interest or experience in interior design, furniture, home furnishings, or decorating.
- Sales experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Confident, outgoing, and comfortable initiating conversations with customers.
- Strong sense of style, color, scale, and space planning.
- Ability to listen to a customer's vision while also guiding them toward a purchase.
- Organized and able to manage multiple customers and design projects.
- Self-motivated with a desire to achieve sales goals.
- Comfortable following up with customers by phone, text, or email.
- Interior design education or professional design experience is a plus but not required for the right candidate.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
