Safety Manager reports to COO
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct job-site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and potential loss exposures
- Develop and implement loss prevention and risk mitigation strategies for construction projects
- Monitor compliance with company safety programs and applicable OSHA regulations
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses, and property damage claims
- Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, root causes, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with project teams to develop site-specific safety and risk management plans
- Analyze loss trends and recommend operational improvements to reduce claim frequency and severity
- Review subcontractor insurance certificates, contracts, and risk transfer requirements
- Conduct employee training on risk awareness, accident prevention, and loss control procedures
- Assist in developing emergency response and business continuity plans
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, corrective actions, and compliance activities
- Support workers' compensation management and return-to-work programs
Experience Qualifications
- 5 years minimum experience in construction safety, risk management, loss control
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, civil, or heavy construction projects preferred
Certifications (Preferred)
- OSHA 500-Hour Construction Certification
- One of the following certifications required: CHSO, CHST, COSM, CSP, ASP
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of construction operations, hazards, and risk management principles
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and industry best practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong report writing and documentation abilities
- Ability to travel to project sites and work in active construction environments
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
