The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Low Voltage Technician – Residential AV / Smart Home who can take ownership of projects, run job sites, lead installations, and uphold the high standards Paramount Audio Video is known for.
This is a hands-on position. You’ll work in the field while directing technicians, coordinating with other trades, troubleshooting systems, and ensuring projects are completed correctly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Lead residential AV and smart home installations from prewire through final installation
- Install and oversee AV, networking, automation, lighting control, security, surveillance, and shading systems
- Manage day-to-day job site activities and technician assignments
- Coordinate with builders, electricians, HVAC contractors, designers, and other trades
- Read architectural plans, reflected ceiling plans, and low-voltage drawings
- Ensure prewires, trim-outs, equipment racks, and finished installations are clean and organized
- Build and terminate professional equipment racks
- Install TVs, speakers, networking equipment, cameras, control systems, and other low-voltage equipment
- Troubleshoot AV, networking, automation, and security systems
- Commission and test completed systems
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Communicate project progress, issues, and material needs with project management
- Maintain a clean, professional job site and represent Paramount AV professionally in clients' homes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of low-voltage, residential AV, or smart home integration experience
- High-end residential/custom-home experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring, AV systems, and residential networking
- Ability to read plans and execute projects with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading technicians or independently running projects
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in clean, professional installations
- Professional communication skills with clients, builders, and other trades
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work on ladders, in attics, crawl spaces, and other typical construction environments

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
