Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking, following recipes and quality standards across various cuisines.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, braising pots, poaching tools, and food processors safely and efficiently.
- Support meal assembly and presentation for high-volume production, catering events, or daily service.
- Maintain cleanliness by following food safety sanitizing procedures and ensuring proper food handling practices.
- Help with menu planning ideas and ensure adherence to established recipes for consistency.
- Contribute to inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or issues promptly.
- Follow all health regulations and safety protocols to create a safe working environment for everyone.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, restaurant cook, or catering assistant is preferred.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation.
- Familiarity with food safety management and sanitizing procedures is essential.
- Experience with food handling standards, recipe adherence, and high-volume production is highly valued.
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely while maintaining efficiency during busy periods.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices or fine dining experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- A team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn new culinary skills.
