Psychiatric Technician - Matti's House
Direct support, recovery coaching, and residential care
$17.00 per hour Weekend Shifts 2709 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA
Matti's House is a 16-bed Long-Term Structured Residence providing 24-hour staffing, psychiatric and nursing services, therapeutic programming, and daily-living skill development. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will provide hands-on support that helps residents strengthen their stability, recovery, and independence.
What you'll do
- Support residents in carrying out individualized treatment, rehabilitation, and transition plans.
- Provide coaching and skill-building support related to personal care, communication, community participation, conflict resolution, and other recovery goals.
- Lead or co-lead structured groups and activities and support residents during meals, appointments, and community outings.
- Observe residents' behavior, mood, functioning, and safety and promptly communicate significant changes or concerns to clinical or nursing staff.
- Complete progress notes, shift documentation, incident reports, and other required records accurately and on time.
- Use approved de-escalation and crisis-response practices and help maintain a safe, respectful, trauma-informed environment.
- Transport residents in an agency vehicle when assigned and participate in team meetings, supervision, and required training.
What you'll bring
- High school diploma or GED; related college coursework is preferred.
- Experience supporting adults with serious mental illness in a residential, inpatient, crisis, emergency-services, or other behavioral health setting.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet CATCH requirements for operating an agency vehicle.
- Clear communication, dependable attendance, sound judgment, professional boundaries, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
