Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shop Foreman/Lead Technician to oversee daily operations within our automotive service facility. This pivotal role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure the highest quality vehicle repairs and maintenance, while fostering a productive and positive team environment. As the leader of our shop, you will coordinate repair activities, mentor technicians, and uphold safety and quality standards across all automotive service tasks. Your hands-on mechanical skills and ability to manage workflow will drive efficiency and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, energetic setting.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the automotive repair team, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion of all service jobs
- Perform complex diagnostics using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and advanced tools to identify issues accurately
- Conduct repairs on a variety of vehicles, including diesel engines, hybrid vehicles, and those requiring ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration
- Oversee vehicle maintenance procedures such as diesel, gas, hybrid, etc.
- Review repair orders, inspect completed work for quality assurance, and ensure adherence to manufacturer specifications
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic procedures for each vehicle
- Support ongoing training for technicians on new technologies like ADAS systems and electrical diagnostics to keep the team current with industry advancements
Requirements
- Proven dealership or automotive repair shop experience with strong mechanical knowledge and mechanic experience
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics, electrical systems, and powertrain components
- Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, chassis/suspension, electrical, etc.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and automotive service software
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately to troubleshoot complex issues effectively
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members alike
