Fall 2026 Fashion Design Intern (Educational/Academic Credit Opportunity)
We are a fast-growing contemporary fashion brand located in Los Angeles seeking a self-starter, highly motivated Fashion Design Intern who is eager to learn and assist with all aspects of collection design.
This internship intended to be an educational and training-focused opportunity in compliance with the U.S. Department of Labor’s internship guidelines. The role is designed to provide a hands-on learning experience, allowing you to explore the fashion design process, gain practical skills, and receive mentorship directly from our experienced team.
Here’s what your opportunity includes:
- Start Date*: August 31st 2026
- Schedule*: 10 hrs/week; Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM (including 1-hour lunch break).
- Location: CIEBON Monterey Park HQ
- End Date*: December 11th 2026
- Compensation: Educational/Academic Credit (this is an unpaid learning opportunity)
- *Internship duration and scheduling can be flexible to accommodate class schedule and academic credit requirements
Qualifications:
You possess…
- Proficient to advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); familiar with both Mac and Windows OS
- Strong understanding of the contemporary market, including fabrications, color, silhouettes, and prints
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starting, independent, and proactive work ethic
- Ability to accept and apply feedback from the creative team
- Ability to create sketches using direction from design and sales team
- Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects
- Basic garment measurement skills
- Strong follow-up and time-management abilities
Responsibilities:
You will be…
- Serving as a liaison between the design team, sales team, production team, and overseas vendors to order and track sample developments
- Updating seasonal line plans
- Maintaining a sample WIP with key vendor and sales information, including costing and submission dates
- Following up with overseas vendors to keep projects on the design calendar
- Organizing, receiving, and tagging all samples, including proto samples and new fabrics
- Managing digital artwork files and fabric archives according to season and delivery
- Creating flat sketches using Adobe Illustrator or hand sketching as needed
- Editing sample photos in Photoshop, including touch-ups and recoloring
- Creating line sheets in InDesign
- Contributing creative input during design development
- Assisting with photoshoots
- Sourcing fabrics as directed by the head designer
- Researching runway and market trends through competitive shopping
- Performing other design-related tasks as assigned by the head designer
