We are two close-knit sibling families looking to hire a dedicated, highly organized, and proactive full-time Household Manager & Family Assistant to support both of our homes. This is a unique, long-term role (30–40 hours per week) designed for a self-starter who takes pride in maintaining an exceptionally clean, orderly home environment and wants to grow with our expanding families.
The core focus of this position is keeping our households running smoothly through daily upkeep, meal preparation, and errands. However, because we have three young children across our two families (a toddler, a school-aged child, and a newborn arriving this coming March), we are looking for someone with robust childcare experience who can seamlessly step into a nanny role when kids are sick, during work travel, or for regular daycare and school pickups.
Note: One household is expecting a newborn in March, so childcare needs will naturally increase over time, with the plan to eventually transition the heavier deep-cleaning duties to an outside service down the road as the baby grows.
Core Responsibilities
- Continuous Deep Cleaning & Upkeep: Beyond daily tidying and dishes, you will utilize available time each week to maintain a high standard of cleanliness. This includes regular, rotating deep cleaning tasks integrated into your normal schedule—such as steam cleaning floors, thorough vacuuming and dusting, detailing bathrooms, and managing home organization projects.
- Meal Preparation & Grocery Errands: Planning and preparing simple, healthy family meals, keeping the refrigerators stocked, grocery shopping, and handling general household errands.
- Laundry Management: Managing family laundry, linens, and changing bedding regularly.
- Flexible Childcare & Daycare Pickups: Providing primary care when children are home sick from school/daycare or when parents travel for work. School pickup is required a couple of days per week.
- Pet Care: One of the households has cats; daily litter box maintenance and general pet upkeep are required.
- Travel Assistance: Join the family on occasional vacations (typically 1–2 times per year, such as trips to Colorado, Florida, Mexico or similar destinations) to provide dedicated childcare, and general assistance, ensuring the trip runs smoothly for the kids.
Schedule & Structure
- Hours: 30–40 hours per week.
- Standard Shift: Typically 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, splitting the week predictably between our two nearby homes.
- Flexibility: We need someone who can occasionally shift hours (start earlier or stay later) to accommodate parent work travel or sick-day coverage. We will always provide as much advance notice as possible.
- Travel Flexibility: Occasional domestic travel required for family vacations. All travel dates will be discussed and coordinated at least 4–6 weeks in advance.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- Strong Cleaning & Housekeeping Expertise: Proven experience with proper cleaning techniques, handling various floor and countertop surfaces, operating steam cleaners, and maintaining an immaculate home.
- Verified Childcare Experience: Must have experience caring for both infants and older children, with a nurturing, patient demeanor.
- Reliable Transportation: A clean driving record and a safe, reliable vehicle suitable for running errands and executing school pickups.
- Cat-Friendly: Comfortable working in a home with cats and handling daily litter duties.
- Long-Term Mindset: We are looking for a true partner to integrate into our daily lives and grow with our families for years to come.
- Health & Safety: CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain) and up-to-date on standard vaccinations (especially with a newborn arriving in March)
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $25-$32/hr depending on experience
- Payroll: Paid legally via W-2 through a household payroll service (costs split cleanly between both families).
- Benefits: Guaranteed hours, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, and mileage reimbursement for work-related driving/errands.
- Travel Compensation: When traveling with the family, all work hours (including active duty and travel transit time) are fully paid.
- Travel Expenses Covered: 100% of travel expenses are covered by the family, including private accommodations/hotel room, flights, and all meals while away.
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Application Question(s):
- Are you comfortable with a schedule that splits your 30–40 weekly hours between two separate sibling households close by, including one home with cats (requiring regular litter box maintenance)?
- Since the kids are typically in daycare, your day-to-day focus will default to household upkeep (errands, meal prep, and ongoing deep cleaning like dusting, bathrooms, and steam cleaning). However, whenever childcare is needed (sick days, school pickups, or family vacations), that immediately becomes your number one priority. Are you comfortable with a role where household management is the standard baseline, but active childcare takes precedence as needed?
- This role requires flexibility to shift hours (start early/stay late) with advance notice for sick days or parent travel, as well as joining the family on occasional domestic vacations 1-2 times a year. Are you able to accommodate this travel and schedule flexibility?
- One of our households is expecting a newborn this coming March, at which point childcare needs will increase. Please briefly describe your specific experience caring for infants/newborns.
- Do you have a safe, reliable personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record to execute school pickups and household errands?
Experience:
- Cleaning: 1 year (Preferred)
- Childcare: 2 years (Required)
