A growing building systems contractor is seeking a Building Automation Project Sales Representative to support continued expansion in the Arizona market. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical Building Automation expertise with business development and solution-based sales.
Role Summary
We are seeking a technically strong Building Automation professional who wants to leverage their controls expertise in a customer-facing sales role.
This position is ideal for a Controls Technician, Systems Specialist, Startup Technician, Commissioning Technician, Applications Specialist, or Building Automation professional who understands BAS/DDC systems and is interested in transitioning into a solution-based sales career.
The successful candidate will identify opportunities, evaluate existing systems, develop retrofit and modernization solutions, create proposals, and help customers improve building performance, energy efficiency, and operational reliability.
This is a highly consultative sales role focused on developing new business and delivering technical solutions.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory
- Build relationships with facility owners, engineers, contractors, and end users
- Identify controls upgrade, replacement, retrofit, and modernization opportunities
- Survey existing building automation systems and evaluate deficiencies
- Develop customized BAS solutions based on customer needs and facility requirements
- Review drawings, specifications, and existing conditions to determine project scope
- Prepare budgets, estimates, scopes of work, and customer proposals
- Present technical and financial solutions to customers
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently generate new opportunities
- Cross-sell controls, service, and mechanical project solutions
- Partner with operations and technical teams to ensure successful project execution
Qualifications
- Strong Building Automation / Controls technical background
- Ability to identify system deficiencies and develop retrofit solutions
- Customer-facing communication skills
- Interest in business development and consultative sales
- Self-starter capable of generating new business opportunitie
- 4+ years of Building Automation, Controls, HVAC Controls, Commissioning, Systems Integration, or related experience
- Strong understanding of BAS/DDC systems and HVAC operations
- Experience troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, servicing, or supporting building automation systems
- Ability to identify retrofit, upgrade, and modernization opportunities
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Interest in business development, sales, or consultative solution selling
- Ability to develop scopes of work, estimates, and customer proposals
- Self-motivated with strong relationship-building abilities
