We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Childcare Assistant Director to lead and inspire our early childhood education programs. This role focuses on maintaining high educational standards, driving enrollment, and streamlining food program administration. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations, support curriculum development, help manage staff, and compliance and ensure a nurturing environment where children can thrive. Your leadership will shape the educational experience, foster community engagement, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality while making a meaningful impact on young learners and their families and demonstrating strategic vision and management expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Compliance:
· Manage and advance our rating within the Pennsylvania Keystone STARS Quality Initiative. Oversee classroom operations ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards
· Experience with budgeting, strategic planning, and fundraising initiatives
· Knowledge of licensing requirements, safety protocols, and best practices in childcare environments.
Nutrition Administration:
· Oversee daily tracking, reporting, and menu compliance for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
Digital Marketing:
· Create engaging content for social media platforms to boost enrollment and community engagement.
Team Leadership:
Support the Director in hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling childcare staff. Demonstrated leadership in managing teams within educational or childcare settings Provide mentorship and leadership development opportunities for staff to foster professional growth
Family Relations:
· Maintain positive, professional communication with parents regarding student progress and center updates.
Communication:
· Excellent communication skills for public speaking, staff training, and community engagement
Required Qualifications
- System Knowledge: Proven experience with the Keystone STARS framework and CACFP regulations.
- Tech Savvy: Strong proficiency in managing business social media pages (Facebook, Instagram) and standard office software.
- Leadership: Exceptional management skills with a track record of leading teams and resolving conflicts effectively. This position will supervise staff including teachers, administrative personnel, and support staff to maintain a motivated and effective team
- Experience: Proven experience in education administration or early childhood program management
- Strong background in curriculum development tailored for young children
- Experience with budgeting, strategic planning, and fundraising initiatives
- Supervising or management experience working with educators, children, and families
- Classroom teaching experience with a solid understanding of early childhood education principles
- Minimum 1 year of administrative experience in a licensed Pennsylvania childcare center.
- Education: Meets Pennsylvania DHS requirements for an assistant director (e.g., Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field).
- Clearances: Current Pennsylvania Child Abuse, State Police Criminal Record, and FBI Fingerprint clearances. [1]

Pay: $36,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
