Ojai Valley School is a pre-kindergarten to grade 12 boarding and day school located on two campuses in Ojai, California. The Lower Campus serves students in grades PK-8 and the Upper Campus serves students in grades 9-12. Summary of Position
Ojai Valley School is currently seeking a full-time School Bus Driver. Specifically, we are looking for an individual with a strong interest in and enthusiasm for working with school-aged children. The ideal candidate has their School Bus certification and/or endorsement and has experience as a School Bus Driver. Ability to drive bus or van to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule by performing the following duties.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
· Transport and ensure the safety of all children and other passengers to and from school.
· Observe and obey all traffic laws and comply with all school Bus Rules and Regulations.
· Drive safely on assigned trips and routes.
· Responsible for bus and vehicle washing, cleaning, (Interior and Exterior) and fueling.
· Always maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus and other vehicles.
· Perform and complete safety vehicle inspection of the bus and other vehicles before and after each route.
· Attend safety meetings as required.
· Delivering mail to different locations within the school sites and able to lift up to 50lbs.
· Completion of transportation of all required daily reports, such as pre-trip inspections and defects.
· Responsible for all updated and required records and documents such as Licenses and Training hours, & First Aid.
· Must be able to communicate and assist as needed and able to be on a flexible schedule.
· Transport and shuttle students to and from the airport (LAX) or other locations as needed, some times in the early morning hours or late night.
· Perform tasks related to the operation of the transportation department or as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree(GED) and one year of related experience and/or training.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and Skills: California Class B driver's license with a PS endorsement is preferred; current CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence related to vehicle inspections or accidents. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
Mathematical and Reasoning Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, and the ability to calculate grades. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
