About the Role
We are looking for a Van Sales Consultant to be the trusted guide for customers exploring their van life journey. In this role, you will help adventurers turn a vision into a finished build, whether they are converting a van they own, having us source the right platform, or purchasing a ready-built van. You will own the sales process from first conversation through delivery, pairing genuine enthusiasm for the outdoors with a consultative, no-pressure approach that reflects our brand and craftsmanship. This is a full-time, in-person role based at our Boulder showroom and shop.
What You'll Do
- Guide prospective customers through the van build and buying process, from first inquiry to delivery
- Lead in-person and virtual consultations, understanding how each customer travels and recommending the right layout, platform, and systems
- Prepare quotes, build proposals, and present financing options
- Manage and nurture a pipeline of leads using our CRM, following up promptly and consistently
- Collaborate with the design, build, and operations teams to ensure customer expectations are set and met
- Represent The Vansmith at the showroom and occasionally at events, expos, and other brand activations
- Maintain deep product knowledge of our builds, components, and the broader van life market
- Deliver an exceptional, consultative customer experience that earns referrals and five-star reviews
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of sales experience, ideally in a consultative, high-consideration, or high-ticket environment (automotive, RV, outdoor, custom products, or similar a plus)
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Excellent communication, listening, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organization and follow-through, with comfort managing a pipeline in a CRM
- Genuine passion for the outdoors, travel, and van life
- Self-motivated and dependable, with a customer-first mindset
- Comfortable working in person at our Boulder location; valid driver's license required
Nice to Have
- Experience with vehicles, campers, RVs, or custom-build sales
- Familiarity with electrical, solar, or van conversion systems
- Existing involvement in the outdoor or van life community
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range of $70,000 to $110,000 per year (base plus commission, depending on experience and performance)
