Science Teacher - 1.0 FTE – Middle School

Under the direction of the principal, the teacher would be working with middle school students to achieve excellence in the area of Science.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
Minimum of BS/BA degree in Education
-
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in Science (DI or DX)
-
Able to assess and document student progress
-
Meet all the requirements as a highly qualified teacher
-
Professional in personal conduct and actions
-
Excellent communication skills
-
Meets federal Every Student Succeeds Act requirements
Desired Characteristics:
-
Successful experience in working with and teaching middle school students.
-
Experience using technology as an instructional tool in the classroom
-
Experience in working within a Professional Learning Community using data to drive instruction
-
Experience using standards to drive instruction, assessment, and grading practices
-
Knowledge of Google Workspace application
Duties:
-
Provide instruction to middle school students
-
Provide and maintain an orderly classroom environment
-
Monitor and document student progress through Skyward student information system and Google Classroom
-
Work independently and cooperatively using a variety of instructional strategies, literacy, and engagement strategies
-
Ability to plan and organize; excellent work habits
-
Willing to attend conferences and participate in professional development
-
Perform other duties as assigned by administration
