About the Role
PerCor Manufacturing is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially minded Commercial Estimating & Pricing Lead to own our estimating, quoting, and pricing process.
This is a high-impact role for someone who understands manufacturing cost drivers, enjoys building accurate pricing models, and wants to help a growing manufacturing company win the right work profitably.
The Commercial Estimating & Pricing Lead will manage the quoting process from RFQ intake through final quote submission, develop accurate cost and pricing assumptions, support margin visibility, and work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, suppliers, and leadership to ensure quotes are accurate, competitive, executable, and aligned with PerCor’s business objectives.
What You’ll DoOwn the Quoting Process
- Lead the quoting process from RFQ intake through final quote submission.
- Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, scope requirements, and supporting documentation.
- Identify missing information, scope gaps, risks, cost drivers, and assumptions requiring clarification.
- Prepare complete and accurate customer quotations in partnership with Sales and leadership.
- Monitor quote status and support Sales during customer follow-up, negotiation, and award decisions.
- Maintain accurate quotation records, pricing files, cost assumptions, and supporting documentation.
Build Accurate Cost and Pricing Models
- Develop detailed cost estimates for material, labor, machine time, tooling, freight, subcontracting, overhead, and supplier inputs.
- Partner with Purchasing and suppliers to validate outside costs, lead times, and commercial assumptions.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to validate labor rates, standard costs, overhead allocations, profitability assumptions, and gross margin targets.
- Evaluate customer pricing requests, cost reduction initiatives, contract renewals, and quote revisions for financial impact.
- Analyze quoted margin, target margin, awarded margin, and completed-job performance.
Drive Cross-Functional Alignment
- Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Finance, suppliers, and leadership to ensure quotes are accurate, competitive, and executable.
- Facilitate internal quote reviews for complex, high-value, or higher-risk opportunities.
- Communicate assumptions, risks, constraints, and trade-offs clearly.
- Support strategic business decisions through financial analysis, scenario modeling, and profitability forecasting.
Improve the System
- Maintain and improve quoting tools, pricing databases, cost models, and standard work.
- Review quoted cost versus actual job performance to identify variances and improve future estimating accuracy.
- Use historical project data, operational feedback, and supplier input to refine assumptions.
- Identify and implement improvements that reduce quote turnaround time, improve accuracy, and strengthen margin visibility.
