The Position:
Are you passionate about photography and love capturing moments that will last a lifetime? At Victor O'Neill Studios (VOS), we're looking for talented photographers who are excited about creating high-quality school portraits that families will cherish for years. If you're detail-oriented, energetic, and have a creative eye, we want to hear from you!
What We Offer:
- Competitive Pay: $18 - $20 per hour, based on experience. Training rate is $17/hr.
- Flexible Hours: Expect to work 25-40 hours per week, with hours varying seasonally. Enjoy more flexibility during slower months.
- Equipment: We provide the equipment for taking/capturing quality photography.
- Comprehensive Training: We provide all the tools and training you need to succeed.
- Travel Reimbursement: Travel over 60 miles round trip is reimbursed at the federal mileage rate.
- Seasonal Opportunity: Ideal for those seeking seasonal work with room for growth year after year. We typically employ seasonal staff from Mid-May through Mid-December.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture Beautiful Memories: Be professional, creative, and energetic while photographing students, teachers, and staff on picture day.
- Set Up & Prepare: Arrive on location promptly to set up equipment and ensure everything is ready to go.
- Keep Things Running Smoothly: Manage your time well to maintain a smooth workflow and stay on schedule.
- Ensure High-Quality Photos: Consistently deliver top-notch portraits that parents will treasure.
- Enter Student Info Accurately: Attention to detail when inputting information into the software is essential.
- Teamwork: Assist with other duties as needed to help the school portrait team.
- Professionalism: Represent VOS positively by adhering to company guidelines and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
Qualifications:
- Experience Required: Prior portrait photography experience is required. Please include your online portfolio when submitting your application.
- People Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with children, staff, and parents.
- Reliable Transportation: You must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. (Uber-type rides are not acceptable.)
- Background Check: Must pass a background check.
- Availability: Be willing to work early mornings and finish work based on job completion time. For example: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm., Weekdays only with occasional afternoon/evening shifts. Weekend hours are rare and by request when available.

Job Type: Part-time, Seasonal Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits:
- Flexible schedule. Schedule provided 3 weeks in advance of work.
- Paid travel mileage for commutes over 60 miles round trip
Work Location: In-person at various schools in the DMV area. In most cases, we keep you within 30 miles of your home.
