PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT
Harlen Construction Company is a growing General Contractor specializing in Commercial and Industrial construction throughout the Midwest. In addition to general contracting services, we self-perform structural steel erection and Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) installation. We are seeking motivated professionals who take pride in quality work, safety, and teamwork.
Position Summary
Harlen Construction Company is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to oversee Commercial and Industrial construction projects from mobilization through closeout. The ideal candidate is a strong field leader capable of coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, enforcing safety standards, and delivering successful projects for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day field operations on Commercial and Industrial construction projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, equipment, and material deliveries
- Maintain project schedules and proactively identify potential delays
- Conduct daily jobsite planning and coordination activities
- Enforce safety standards and company policies
- Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project plans and specifications
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and project documentation
- Communicate effectively with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Project Managers, and Subcontractors
- Manage punch list completion and project closeout activities
- Represent Harlen Construction Company professionally at all times
- Assist in mentoring foremen, field personnel, and subcontractors to achieve project success
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction supervision experience preferred
- Experience managing Commercial and Industrial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and quality control
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple trades and project stakeholders
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Midwest as project requirements dictate
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience with Design-Build and CMAR delivery methods
- Experience with Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) projects
- Experience managing projects ranging from $250,000 to $5,000,000+
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
