Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary.
- Support residents in maintaining personal hygiene, including toileting and skin care routines.
- Follow care plans meticulously while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Administer medications accurately under supervision, document medication administration, and manage medication supplies.
- Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to provide specialized assistance.
- Strong skills in patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and implementing care plans are essential.
- Ability to perform light to heavy lifting safely and effectively; experience with manual handling equipment is preferred.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive attitude towards caregiving ensure a positive experience for residents and team members alike.
