JR Paralegal (JRP) is a boutique, virtual paralegal and legal operations support agency providing experienced, reliable legal support to attorneys and law firms across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions. We operate as a seamless extension of our clients' firms, offering flexible, remote-based paralegal services without the overhead of in-house staffing. About the Role
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. New contractors begin with a mandatory onboarding period focused on administrative and paralegal support duties at approximately 5 hours per week. This applies whether you are joining for hourly work or flat fee project work. The onboarding period can be scheduled around evenings and weekends to accommodate your current commitments.
This role supports attorneys across a wide range of practice areas.

This role is fully flexible. You set your availability, and we match you with a client or assignment that fits. There is no one-size-fits-all schedule here. Whether you prefer ongoing assignments, limited hourly availability, or project-based drafting with a defined turnaround window, we want to understand what type of work arrangement fits you best.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting with personal injury matters from intake through settlement, litigation, or trial preparation
Communicating with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, attorneys, courts, and third parties as needed
Requesting, organizing, and reviewing medical records, bills, lien information, and case documents
Preparing demand packages, settlement summaries, chronologies, discovery responses, and other case-related documents
Managing deadlines, calendars, follow-ups, document requests, and case tasks
Assisting with pleadings, motions, discovery, court filings, and litigation support when applicable
Maintaining organized electronic case files, case notes, and client records
Working within client systems such as Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther, Filevine, Litify, Needles, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar platforms
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on personal injury paralegal experience required
Experience with pre-litigation, litigation, or both preferred
Strong organizational, drafting, proofreading, and case management skills
Familiarity with medical records, demands, insurance claims, discovery, and personal injury workflows
Ability to manage deadlines, client communication, and confidential information with professionalism
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Experience using legal practice management platforms and e-filing systems preferred
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Must be comfortable working as an independent contractor
