Local Box Truck Route Driver (Non-CDL)

Schneider’s Seafood + Meats is a family-owned Buffalo food distributor that has been serving Western New York since 1909.
We are hiring an experienced Non-CDL Box Truck Route Driver for local deliveries throughout Western New York.
This is a full-time, year-round position with consistent daytime hours, no overnight travel and no Sunday or Monday shifts.
Schedule
Tuesday–Saturday
· Tuesday through Friday: approximately 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
· Saturday: approximately 7:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
· No Sunday or Monday shifts
· Local routes only
· Home every day
Finish times may vary based on order volume, route length, traffic and weather.
What Your Day Looks Like
Drivers begin the day at our warehouse at approximately 7:00 a.m. Before leaving on their routes, drivers assist with filling orders, organizing deliveries and loading trucks.
Trucks typically depart between approximately 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. for local delivery routes throughout Western New York.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys driving, working independently, staying active and providing professional customer service.
Pay and Benefits
· $25.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience
· Paid weekly
· Overtime paid after 40 hours
· Quarterly performance bonus of up to $350
· $4,000 annual employer contribution toward health insurance when employee coverage is elected
· SIMPLE IRA with 3% employer contribution after 90 days
· $25,000 employer-paid life insurance after 90 days
· Employer-paid long-term disability insurance after 90 days
· Six paid holidays after 90 days
· Vacation and sick time accrue from hire and may be used after 90 days
· Company uniform provided after 90 days, including shirts, pants, hat and jacket
· Paid training
Responsibilities
· Safely operate an 18-foot refrigerated box truck
· Complete approximately 15–20 local deliveries per day
· Load and unload customer orders
· Use a provided hand truck and truck ramp to complete deliveries
· Verify deliveries for accuracy and completeness
· Provide friendly and professional customer service
· Assist with warehouse work, order preparation and truck loading before routes
· Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections
· Maintain accurate delivery and vehicle records
· Report delays, incidents or vehicle concerns promptly
· Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures
Requirements
· Previous box truck delivery experience
· Valid driver’s license
· Driving record that meets company insurance requirements
· Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 pounds
· Comfortable performing both warehouse and delivery work
· Comfortable using a hand truck and truck ramp
· Dependable attendance and punctuality
· Strong time-management and communication skills
· Ability to work independently and stay organized
· Professional attitude when interacting with customers
· Steel-toe footwear required while on duty
No CDL required.
