Maintenance Machinist
Pay: $22.00–$32.00 per hour

Southwark Metal Manufacturing Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Machinist / Tool & Die Maker to join our Philadelphia Division. In this hands-on, onsite position, you’ll use manual and automated equipment to produce, maintain, sharpen, and repair precision parts and die tooling.

What You’ll Do
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, samples, schematics, and work instructions to determine job specifications.
- Plan the sequence of operations needed to complete machining and repair jobs efficiently.
- Measure and mark materials accurately for cutting, machining, or shaping.
- Set up and operate a variety of manual, semi-automated, and automated machines, including lathes, grinders, and related equipment.
- Produce and repair precision components to required specifications.
- Perform die tooling, sharpening, and repair.
- Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and other inspection tools, to verify dimensions.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and make minor repairs as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Work independently while following established procedures and instructions.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, Maintenance Machinist, or similar role.
- Experience operating and/or programming manual, semi-automated, or automated machine tools.
- Experience with equipment such as lathes, grinders, and related machining equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and accurate measurement techniques.
- Strong mathematical, mechanical, and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to follow directions.
- Ability to safely handle and lift heavy materials and perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Must be available to work any shift.
- This is an onsite position at our Philadelphia facility.
