Overview
Woodstock Renewal Contracting is a quality-focused construction company serving Woodstock, Kingston, and the surrounding Hudson Valley. We specialize in custom deck building, exterior structures, and general home improvement related construction projects. We take pride in doing every job right, no matter the size. We're a small, dedicated team and we're looking for a skilled carpenter who shares our commitment to craftsmanship, clean work, and happy clients.
Responsibilities
- Build and install custom decks using composite and wood materials (Trex, TimberTech, Pressure Treated Pine, Hardwoods, etc.), including framing, decking, fascia, and picture framing details
- Install cable railing systems, composite railings, balusters, cocktail rails, and stair assemblies with precision
- Perform finish carpentry including trim, stair construction, fascia, handrails, and more.
- Construct exterior structures such as fences, gates, and custom site-built features
- Perform framing for exterior structures (walls, roof, window/door openings)
- Siding Installation
- Occasional painting
- Read and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to execute work accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
- Collaborate closely with the team to keep projects on schedule and on budget
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on carpentry or construction experience, with demonstrated skill in decking, framing, or finish work
- Experience with heavy machinery preferred (backhoe work is common)
- Experience pulling trailers preferred
- Experience with composite and hardwood decking products is a strong plus
- Ability to read plans and work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfort working at heights and in varying outdoor conditions
- Strong attention to detail — we build things that are meant to last and look great
- Reliable, punctual, and takes ownership of their work
- Valid driver's license required; own tools preferred
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
