Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, assembling ingredients, and following recipes to ensure consistency and quality
- Support cooking processes by operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, ingredients, and equipment using safe lifting practices
- Serve food to guests or colleagues in a timely manner, ensuring presentation meets standards
- Buss tables and clear dishes to maintain cleanliness in dining areas and kitchen stations
- Operate POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing when required
- Assist with banquet setups, serving during events, or catering functions as needed
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food safety, hygiene, and manual handling
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure guest satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards in hospitality settings
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper posture and technique
- Familiarity with cooking techniques and kitchen equipment operation
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and guests
- Previous banquet experience or hotel kitchen experience is advantageous
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude towards guest interactions
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Basic understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in culinary settings
